Terms of Service

Welcome to Faro. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Tomás Frechou ("Faro", "we", "us") governing your use of the Faro app and related services (the "Service"). By using Faro, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Faro. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you can form a binding agreement with us.

Your account

To use Faro you create an account using your email or Sign in with Apple. You're responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for the activity that happens under it. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

The Service and your license to use it

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Faro for your own personal, non-commercial reflection and journaling. We may improve, change, or add features over time, and occasionally remove them.

Subscriptions, Pro, and billing

Faro offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription that unlocks AI and advanced features.

  • Billing through Apple. Pro subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and billed to your Apple account. Subscription management, including cancellation or purchase restoration, is handled through your Apple account.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
  • Free trials. Where offered, any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Prices. Prices are shown in the app and may change; we'll give notice of changes where required.
  • Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are subject to Apple's policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements.

Apple

These Terms are an agreement between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Faro. For any claim relating to the app (including third-party intellectual-property claims), we — not Apple — are responsible. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, Apple has the right to enforce them against you.

Your content and ownership

You own the content you create in Faro — your goals, journal entries, reflections, and media files. We don't claim ownership of it.

You grant us the limited permission needed to operate the Service for you: to store, back up, sync, and display your content across your devices, and — only when you explicitly use an AI feature — to process the relevant content to generate your result, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.

You're responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the right to store it.

AI features

Pro includes AI features (such as AI Reviews, Ask Faro, daily prompts, and AI-written reminders) that generate text based on the content you choose to include.

  • AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. It's intended to support your reflection, not to be relied on as fact.
  • Faro is not a substitute for professional advice. AI features do not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. If you need help, talk to a qualified professional.
  • AI features may have daily usage limits, which we may adjust to keep the Service sustainable.

Acceptable use

When using Faro, you agree not to:

  • break the law or infringe others' rights;
  • attempt to access another user's account or data;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or probe the Service or its infrastructure;
  • reverse engineer or misuse the Service or its AI features (for example, to extract another party's data or to generate harmful content); or
  • use the Service to store or transmit content you don't have the right to.

Intellectual property

The Faro app, brand, name, logo, and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

Privacy

Your use of Faro is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. Privacy is a core part of how Faro is built.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. You're responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Faro and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

Termination

You can stop using Faro and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes to the Terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Faro after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be subject to the competent courts of the Argentine Republic, unless mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

General

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will stay in full effect. Our not enforcing a provision does not mean we waive it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
